The magnitude of the fantastic performance of our 2013 Downhill World Champion, Greg Minnaar hit home this week when the signed World Championship jersey was received from the UCI.
The coveted rainbow stripes World Championship jersey, signed by all the 2013 MTB World Champions, is of huge significance to Cycling South Africa as it commemorates a very successful UCI MTB World Championship event hosted in Pietermaritzburg last year.
Greg Minnaar played his part in magnificent fashion by capturing the final gold medal at the Championship, bringing immense pride and honour to the country. The jersey will be proudly displayed at the offices of Cycling South Africa commemorating the great performance of our World Champion, Greg Minnaar.
No doubt Greg’s 2013 World title achievement will inspire all our riders at the upcoming Pietermaritzburg leg of the 2014 UCI MTB World Cup Series to be held at the Cascades MTB Park from 11-13 April 2014.
