Bottomless Coffee Band is set to entertain mountain bikers at the BUCO Origin Of Trails Two-Day MTB Stage Race in Stellenbosch the weekend of 25 – 26 November 2017.

Started in 2010, Bottomless Coffee Band consists of husband and wife multi-instrumentalist Folk Rock Duo, Esté and Lourens Rabé.

“To summarize how the band got its name, Lourens and I fell in love while I was deep into rehearsals as a drama student at Stellenbosch,” says Esté. “Coffee stops on our way to class was a given.  He didn’t drink any hot drinks back then.  He was immediately fascinated by coffee and the coffee shop culture.  Eventually I converted him and now he is a bigger coffee snob than me. Today it is an atmospheric name.  Coffee and coffee shops draw people together for conversation, inspiration and creativity and we hope that our music could do the same.”

“Our music can be best described as Modern Folk-Rock, with a dash of blues and a sprinkle of African,” continues Esté.   “We have performed at a few mountain bike races and are really excited to perform at the BUCO Origin Of Trails. Mountain bikers are amazing people. We’ve also found that mountain bikers are often really interested in the “finer” things in life, which obviously includes music (and coffee).  This results in a beautiful synergy between a race and a performance. The audience can expect loads of energy, interesting instruments, foot-tapping and heartfelt songs and a festive atmosphere.”

Bottomless Coffee Band will perform on Saturday, 25 November 2017 just before the Stage One Prize Giving. While riders can look forward to sharing their race stories, enjoying an ice cold Becks Blue ‘guilt free’ in the finish area.
