After months of planning and negotiation, Cannondale South Africa and its dealer network have taken the bold step of adjusting the pricing structure on Cannondale bicycles with immediate effect.

“South Africa has a unique economic environment. This coupled with the after-effects of Covid and erratic currency fluctuations have seen bicycle prices skyrocket over the last few years. Our objective is to ensure Cannondale Bicycles are always accessible to as many cyclists as possible,” said Mark Nel, National Sales & Marketing Manager at Omnico.
“Thanks to our multi-brand strategy, we have been able to re-align bicycle prices and offer a premium product in Cannondale as a fantastic value-for-money proposition. We’re unlikely to run specials in future due to the pricing being as competitive as it now is. We do believe that this strategy will offer a reprieve in what is currently a very difficult economic climate for South Africans,” added Nel.
Cannondale is primarily a mid-to-high end performance bicycle brand, with strong roots in both mountain biking and road cycling in South Africa. The Mountain Bike segment in the country is significantly larger than the Road Bike segment, with growing eBike and Gravel Bike sub-categories. Cannondale offers bikes all of these categories and is currently selling recent year models as well as latest models.
“We’ve embarked on a campaign that includes all of our Cannondale dealers and which will be marketed consistently via various media and social media channels over the next few months. We are essentially rewinding and going back in time to deliver bicycle prices on Cannondales that are more realistic and affordable, even on our top-end models,” explained Nel.
“As Cannondale South Africa, all passionate cyclists ourselves, we wanted to find a solution to the current bicycle price inflation trend that’s putting strain on cyclists and look forward to delivering great bikes at great prices,” added Nel.
