CANNONDALE TARGETS SA MARKET WITH ITS PEFORMANCE EBIKE RANGE

In 1990, Cannondale was one of the first international bicycle brands to see potential in the South African mountain bike market. More than three decades later, Cannondale is not only flourishing, but is targeting the growing South African eBike mountain bike market. Here’s a look at Cannondale’s feature-packed, well-priced performance eBike range.

eBike sales are increasing as more and more South Africans understand and embrace the benefits of a bicycle that makes it possible to ride further, more often without having to embark on a Cape Epic-like training routine.

Yes, there are eBikes that are relatively basic in terms of their construction, geometry and features. These are aimed at very recreational consumers who likely will never truly appreciate a well-built piece of singletrack mountain bike trail. For those that do get their kicks from shredding singletrack, or all-day trail rides, Cannondale’s eBikes offer something for everyone! And the pricing is incredibly competitive.

“Cannondale has been steadily developing a range of eBikes for the committed mountain biker. It’s a category that we are focusing on in South Africa and we now have a really impressive range of models,” said Mark Nel, National Sales & Marketing Manager at Omnico, the company that imports and distributes Cannondale.

“The wide range in stock and the commitment we have recently made to Cannondale’s new pricing gives us confidence that we will see more and more South Africans enjoying the trails on a Habit Neo, Moterra or Moterra SL,” added Nel.

The Habit Neo and Moterra are more classic full eBikes with large volume motors and long-range batteries, while the Moterra SL blurs the lines, weighing in at under 20kg, but with a full eBike motor and long-range battery. More details on the Moterra SL here.
