The recently appointed Gauteng Provincial MTB Commissioner, Brandon Whiteley, has proposed that Central Gauteng hosts a series of four Regional Cross Country cup events, as well as a provincial XCO championship on 2 July 2016.

At the regional events, points will be awarded to the CG competitors and the best three results in each category will be used to select a Central Gauteng regional team. Provided the regional team members participate in the Gauteng Provincial Championship event, they will be eligible for Regional Colours.

If regions are not hosting their own events, the results from the CGC events will be available to them to enable them to select their regional teams.

It is proposed that the top three in each category within the Provincial Championships will represent their province at the National Championships and will be nominated for Provincial Colours.
