Tristian de Lange and Marco Joubert won the final stage and claimed the overall victory at the Val de Vie MTB Expedition 3-Stage Race, presented by TCS Wi-Fi, which concluded on Sunday 26 Sept.

The Imbuko Giant pair completed the 80km final stage in 3 hours 24 minutes and 57 seconds to thrust themselves to overall victory ahead of Jaco Venter and Matthew Keyser.

HB Kruger and Rossouw Bekker (Alfa Bodyworks/Valley Electrical Titan Racing), overcame a flat tyre and defended their third spot on the overall podium like true trojans.

Marthinus and Shauna Esmeyer (Look- Paradise Adventures) won the stage again in the mixed category and were followed home by Teresa and Greg Keers, and that’s how the overall standings also remained in the mixed category.

The seasoned due of Hanlie Booyens and Michelle Lombardi (Tiletoria) won their third consecutive stage in the women’s category and completed the overall win ahead of the fighting pair of Michelle Nielsen and Tandi Kitching.

The inaugural Val de Vie MTB Expedition, presented by TCS Wi-Fi, incorporated some of the best trails in the Paarl and Wellington region.

The podium spots in the Veteran Men 40+ category were filled by the Van Deijl Jewellers pair of Hannes Kotze and Andreas Studer in first and Thorkild Nielson and Richard Lurie in second, while Ignus Oosthuizen and Callan Sexton put in a strong ride to push themselves onto the podium in third spot.
