Frame
Made with 6061 aluminium, the Roxter frame is light and durable. With a 69-degree headtube and a 66.7-degree seattube, the geometry of the Roxter ensures your kid feels more in control on descents and singletrack. The 16-inch model comes with a 70-degree headtube and 70-degree seattube for smaller bodies.
The raw aluminium frame is practical in that it doesn’t easily scratch and is also unisex, ideal for boys and girls should you want to pass it down to a younger sibling.
Fork
Suspension forks for junior bikes are normally heavy and offer limited benefits. That’s why the Roxter has a rigid 6061 aluminium fork. It makes the bike lighter and encourages your kid to use his/her torso, core and arms to handle the front end.
Drivetrain
Junior bikes with multiple chainrings complicate shifting for little ones. That’s why the Roxter is specced with a 1×8 Shimano drivetrain, delivering simplicity with adequate gearing to get up steep climbs.
Brakeset
The better a child can brake, the more confidence he/she has to go faster and take on more challenging trails. That’s why the SCOTT Roxter is specced with the best possible brakes for each wheel size. The 24 and 20-inch models come with Tektro disc brakes, which are super-efficient and predictable as well as easy for small hands to apply. The 20-inch comes with a coaster rear brake and a v-brake up front.
Wheels
Aluminium rims with Formula hubs ensure strong, light wheels, while Kenda’s Booster tyres are slightly oversized, for better traction and improved bump absorption, delivering improved overall control.
Safety
From a safety perspective, the Roxter 16-inch has a full chainguard and all three models have a Syncros stem protector, which helps buffer any contact with the stem. The 20 and 24-inch models also have quick-release seatpost so that it can be dropped quickly and easily for more challenging descents.
Lightweight
The lighter the bike in relation to the little rider, the better he/she can control it. The Roxter’s weights are trimmed down to the following: Roxter 16-inch: 8.2kg; Roxter 2-inch: 10.3kg and the Roxter 24-inch: 11.0kg
