Leading South African sports supplement brand, Biogen, is the new official supplement partner to Advendurance mountain bike events, giving the brand additional penetration into the large mountain bike market.

Among other high profile mountain bike events, Advendurance is the organising company of the Ashburton Investments National Series, the Nissan Trailseeker Gauteng Series and the Nissan Trailseeker Western Cape Series. The total number of events in the three series combined is 16, across seven South African provinces, running from January through to November.

“We’re thrilled to be an official partner with Advendurance. It organises world class events and has the highest levels of credibility in the mountain bike market. The mountain bike market is both large and growing and this partnership fits our strategy perfectly,” said Brandon Fairweather, Biogen marketing manager.

“We’re really excited about the new partnership with Biogen. The people behind the brand are a bunch of passionate guys and that fits really well with the Advendurance brand,” said Francois Theron of Advendurance.

“We’ve got a broad market to cater for on a national basis, from the professional athletes to the weekend warriors, to the potential first timers, and also the young ones. We’ve got a responsibility to grow the sport and make the experience as enjoyable and professional as possible. With its wide range of sports nutrition and healthy lifestyle products, Biogen adds a tremendous amount of value to our events,” added Theron.

Mountain bikers entering the Advendurance mountain bike events can expect consistent interaction with the Biogen brand, both at the water points out on the routes and at the start/finish area. They will also receive samples of various Biogen products in the race goodie bags.

Biogen has had a long relationship with mountain biking, from being a supplement partner to many top teams and individual racers and a title sponsor of some teams. The brand has also been involved with many events over the past 10 years.

“With Advendurance events, we get an opportunity to interact with the biggest cross-section of the mountain bike market throughout the year. This partnership is also a confirmation of our continued commitment to the sport of mountain biking, which brings together families, encourages travel and is a great example of appreciation of health, fitness and our beautiful country,” added Fairweather.
