The Pretoria round of SCOTT Sports Africa’s nationwide Spark Demo Day Project takes place at Big Red Barn this weekend. The interactive campaign enjoyed a successful launch last weekend in Johannesburg, giving local mountain bikers an opportunity to test ride the new SCOTT Spark, which has created a stir since its launch in June.
Various 2017 models are available across the SCOTT Spark platforms, including plus wheel-sized bikes. The bikes were put through their paces on the trails at the PWC Bike Park, Bryanston on Saturday and Sunday as riders experienced the performance of the new suspension design and the handling of the updated geometry.
Nino Schurter and Jenny Risveds both raced to Olympic gold medals on the new SCOTT Spark in Rio in September, confirming the new Spark is performance proven at the highest level.
“The consumer can buy an almost identically equipped bike to those that won Olympic titles, but it’s really important for people to experience the complete Spark range on South African trails in local conditions,” said Phillip Erasmus, SCOTT Sports Africa Marketing Manager.
“We would like riders to experience both the 100mm and 120mm suspension platforms so that they can see which suits their style of riding best. This is why we have invested almost R2 million into the Spark Demo Day campaign,” added Erasmus.
“We will visit all the major cities and towns to be able to give as many mountain bikers as possible an opportunity to experience the all new Spark, which is really the pinnacle of the most advanced full-suspension mountain bike technology available today,” added Erasmus.
