Because TREAD has always had a woman, co-founder Joanne Badenhorst, helping navigate the brand since we launched it in 2009, we have always embraced women as part of the SA MTB community. But with the growth of women in mountain biking we’ve decided it’s time to add more female-specific content via TREAD FEMME.
It’s fantastic to see how many more women there are on mountain bikes these days. We love that we all come from different places and have different reasons for riding our bikes.
We love that some of us ride to escape. We love that some of us ride to connect with others. We love that some of us ride to burn calories and lose weight. We love that some of us ride to burn calories to justify the post-ride cake! We love that some of us ride to be competitive. We love that riding mountain bikes takes us outdoors. We love that mountain biking takes us to new places and introduces us to new people. We love that mountain bikes give us a little bit of freedom – or a lot…
TREAD Femme is dedicated to delivering information and inspiration to South African female mountain bikers. Doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or have been riding for years, we want you to feel like you’re part of a community that supports you.
If you have a formal business that focuses on supporting female mountain biking in South Africa get in touch with us. If you have an informal way of supporting female mountain biking in South Africa, get in touch with us. We want to tell your stories. And we want to tell the stories of the women you support.
If you’re are a brand distributor that has female-specific products (gear, clothing, bikes etc), get in touch with us. We want you to succeed and have various options to help you reach your target market.
