We are delighted to announce that Orange Monkey Pro Team athlete Mariske Strauss has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Cathkin Braes, Glasgow.
After narrowly missing out on the London Olympics Mariske has been a stand out star of South African Mountain Biking. Winning the African Championships in January and with an 8th place at last years World Championships in her home country she has been in scintillating form!
Alongside Phillip Buys, Strauss will bring her big heart and big smile to Cathkin Braes in Glasgow where she will have plenty of support from her many UK fans.
On finding out the news earlier today Mariske said, “I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to my family, friends, team and coach, I’m just so excited and honored to be a part of this and represent my country”.
Mariske will now spend some time at home preparing for the race before making her way to Scotland a few weeks from now!
