On 11 May 2016 Cycling South Africa’s Mountain Bike Commission annouced that the following rider has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2016 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships in Laissac, France, on 25-26 June.

Robyn de Groot has been selected in line with the 2016 CSA-MTB Selection Criteria. The criteria and performance levels detailed in the approved Mountain Bike Selection Policy were followed closely.

The relevant data from the nominated selection races were gathered and assessed against the performance criteria for all riders competing in the Elite Women and Elite Men categories. These are the only categories provided for at World MTB Marathon Championships.

No male riders were selected, as the selection process and participation in the prescribed selection races were not followed.
