Leading smart trainer brand Tacx recently brought its entry-level smart trainer, the Flux S, to the South African market, where it’s expected to flourish, especially as we approach winter. You stand a chance to win one for yourself if you answer these three questions correctly.

You may have noticed that for the inaugural UCI eSport World Championships, every competitor was fitted onto a Tacx Neo 2, the flagship model in the Tacx smart trainer range. The reason for that is that the Tacx Neo 2 closely resembles real-riding conditions better than any other smart trainer and the virtual racing needed to be as realistic and even to the riders as possible.

But at R28199, the Neo 2 is above the budget limit of many. That’s where the Flux S becomes a super option. With very similar styling and stability to the Neo 2, the Flux S is less than half the price, but offers the same premium technology, minus some bonus features.

The Tacx Flux S offer does offer the following features as standard:

  • Measures ride data to within 3% accuracy
  • Has a super-quiet flywheel action
  • Is smart-trainer app compatible, including Zwift, Tacx Training and others
  • Simulates inclines up to a 10% gradient
  • Measures explosive out-the-saddle efforts up to 1500 watts

QUESTIONS

  1. Up to how many Watts does the Tacx Flux S measure when you’re sprinting?
  2. Up to what gradient percentage does the Tacx Flux 2 realistically simulate inclines?
  3. Name two examples of road surfaces the Tacx Neo 2T can simulate ‘road feel’ whilst riding?

Find the answers to these three questions online here.

Send the correct answers on an email to competitions@treadmtb.co.za and include your name. We will put all the correct answers into a random draw with one lucky respondent winning the Tacx Flux S.
