It’s a tar road and he’s on a road bike, but he is the reigning Olympic mountain bike champion. If you haven’t seen it yet, have a squiz at Tom Pidcock’s super-fast descent of Tuna Canyon in Los Angeles. Apparently he’d ridden the descent a couple of times first and there was a car ahead to keep the quiet road clear of any traffic for the filmed run. Perhaps more impressive is SAFA Brian who followed and filmed Pidcock and didn’t once appear to show any signs of descending weakness…
