It’s not a race for everyone, but everyone that is a South African mountain biker should be grateful for the Absa Cape Epic, which undoubtedly helped launch stage racing, one of the pillars of the sport for two decades. Next year, the Cape Epic celebrates its 20th edition. The route was announced this week and not one stage is longer than 100km! Will it be a softer route after last year’s weather-affected massacre or is it deceptively tough?
