The first Marathon World Cup race to form part of the new UCI MTB World Series took place in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic at the weekend. In the men’s race, many familiar names that compete in the Absa Cape Epic were gunning for the title, while in the women’s race, South Africa’s Amy Wakefield was the only real familiar name among the contenders. The 120km route included 2500 metres of climbing. The men’s race came down to a sprint, while the women’s race saw the riders more split up. Here’s the 11-minute highlights video.
